RICHARD KEARNEY, Professor of Philosophy at University College Dublin and Boston College, will be making his third appearance at this conference. He will address the question of Augustine and Paul Ricoeur. In addition to the exciting papers that he has given he has been a genial moderator of the two "roundtables" on the gift, between Marion and Derrida (1997) and on forgiveness with Derrida and the other speakers (1999). His best known is The Wake of Imagination. But he has also published recently, among other things, Poetics of Imagining,
Postnationalist Ireland, and Poetics of Modernity. He is editor of Continental Philosophy in the Twentieth Century and co-editor of Questioning Ethics: Contemporary Debates in Philosophy and The Continental Philosophy Reader. Richard Kearney is also a novelist--(Sam's Fall, 1994) and Walking at Sea Level, 1997), a poet (Angel of Patrick's Hill, 1991), and a well known Irish cultural critic.
