Welcome to the Supercritical Fluids Laboratory located in
217 and 220 White Hall, home of the Chemical Engineering
Department. This laboratory has been built over the past 15
years and has significant capabilities in using compressed
and supercritical water, carbon dioxide, hexane and other
fluids. The goal of the lab is to explore environmentally
friendly solvents for use in the materials processing,
pharmaceutical, and chemical industries. We also strive to
understand the thermodynamics and mass transfer properties
of chemicals, mixtures, and polymers in these fluids.
