Dear AAUP Member:
“Developing Leadership Skills
for Chapter Officers and Activists” will be held on
Saturday, September 25th, 9-1:30 pm, at Villanova
University. I hope you'll attend and
encourage others to attend. If you were unable to
make it to the summer institute in San Diego, the
workshop provides a condensed version of the same
range of courses devoted to building local
chapters--but because it's a one-day workshop in
your area, you'll have the added benefit of making
connections with faculty members in the
vicinity--with a minimal amount of time and travel.
Of course if you were at the summer institute, this
workshop will be the ideal occasion to share with
your colleagues what you learned. The program is
posted on AAUP's website at
www.aaup.org/AAUP/about/events/villanova.htm.
If you have any questions, or
if I can do anything at all to help you recruit
participants, please email me at
donnal.potts@gmail.com.
all the best,

Message from John Hinshaw,
President, PA-AAUP
Dear Colleagues:
This upcoming meeting promises
to be great: the speakers from Fairfield University
balance vision with practical suggestions on how to
build a strong advocacy chapter. This meeting will
be a chance for you to recharge your batteries as an
AAUP officer or activist. Even better, it’s your
best chance (short of the Summer Institute) to
recruit a new leader at your college or university.
Please come yourself or better yet bring someone
with you.
Sincerely yours,
John Hendrix Hinshaw
