All faculty interested in the fine print of their future contract should at least give a look to the current draft of the current draft. The AAUP has a 55 page PDF document that discusses the role of the faculty handbook with state by state details [download now].
In order to see the link to our current draft on the top of the second column of quick links titled Full-Time Faculty Handbook Draft of the VPAA home page, you must look at the top right corner of the internal VU window where it either says "log off" or "log on". If it says "log on" do it, and then refresh the page to be able to see and then access the link. If it says "log off", you are by default logged on to the VU web site, which is required for many things on the VU web and is independent of MyNova or the VU Gateway, and you will see the link.
The link itself is not password protected so we are not reproducing it here.
Feedback from faculty on the current draft is available here.
From the VVAA office:
Colleagues:
The revised version of the Full Time Faculty Handbook Draft now is available on the Academic Affairs home page under "Quick Links" at http://www.villanova.edu/vpaa/office/ for your viewing and consideration. This version is a product of several meetings with members of the Faculty Congress, Committee on Faculty, and Academic Affairs Committee, all of whom worked hard to take into account the many excellent comments provided by faculty members last spring and throughout the summer, incorporating the suggestions when possible.
Please review the document (all changes from the current Handbook are highlighted in yellow) in preparation for the open forum on November 3.
Thank you.
