Performances

The Villanova Dance Company and Ensemble members perform together twice per year -- once in the fall and once in the spring and these performances are known as "showcases".  These performances usually take place on Villanova's campus in St. Mary's Hall Auditorium. Faculty, Students, Friends, and Family attend the productions, which provides an opportunity for those whom join the opportunity to perform.  In addition to the Showcases, the Company performs at various other Events

Showcase Information

Consists of several pieces choreographed by Company members as well as the Ensemble/Company Advisor(s). Choreographers choose their own music, style, and performers for their piece, which is approved by the Advisor.

  • New members may choreograph after one full semester with the Company.
  • All pieces should not exceed three (3) minutes in length.
  • All music, costuming, etc., must be approved by the Director/Advisor of the Villanova Dance Company/Ensemble.
  • In the event of an overwhelming number of those wishing to choregraph in a semester, seniority will go to the upper classmen.
  • Anyone can try out to be in a piece.

Costume Information

All costumes are the property of the Villanova Dance Company/Ensemble. We try to use and/or reuse the large selection of costumes in the office. New costumes will be purchased within the limits of the budget. Occasionally, choreographers may ask dancers to purchase an item individually such as a top, bodysuit, etc. This may only be done with the permission of the advisor.
