Dr. Sandra Steingraber: Ecologist, author, and cancer survivor

"Contaminated Without Consent: How Exposures to Chemical Pollutants Violate Human Rights and What We Can Do About It."

Sandra Steingraber, Ph.D. is an internationally recognized expert on the environmental links to cancer and reproductive health. In 1997, Steingraber was named a Ms. Magazine Woman of the Year. In 1999, the Sierra Club heralded Steingraber as “the new Rachel Carson.” Steingraber’s highly acclaimed book, Living Downstream: An Ecologist Looks at Cancer and the Environment presents cancer as a human rights issue. Her latest work, Having Faith: An Ecologist’s Journey to Motherhood, explores the intimate ecology of motherhood. Dr. Steingraber is currently Distinguished Visiting Scholar at Ithaca College. This lecture is free and open to the public. Book signing to follow.

•  Dr. Paul Rosier, Assistant Professor of History - Villanova's Environmental Learning Community

Join Villanova students for a free outdoor concert starting at 3:00 at the Oreo. Bands include:

Then join us over at Sheehan Beach for a free BBQ of veggie burgers, beef hot dogs, hamburgers, chips, refreshments, etc.
