Resources: material, time, money, space…at Villanova it often seems that space is our most coveted resource! One person stands out as a most gracious gatekeeper of space---Annetta Stowman, who until recently worked as the scheduler of all the Connelly Center rooms. Literally hundreds of people contacted her to reserve space in Connelly or SAC, and uniformly they agree with this faculty member:
I am nominating a woman who is a stellar example of an "unsung heroine" in terms of making this University a smoother functioning entity: Annetta Stowman - Connelly Center. Annetta assists with enabling all to get the necessary rooms, food, etc. for many events from small meetings for faculty committees to large events with casts of hundreds. She is always pleasant, offers suggestions and is just a "down to earth" accommodating woman!! I have never heard her complain or say an unkind word about anyone!!

Another faculty member added: Annetta always listened and often worked miracles to find a space for our meetings. She was patient and totally service-oriented!
Her supervisor, Tony Alfano, hastened to add his praise of Annetta’s service: Annetta exemplifies what is the best in Villanova, she is a caring, dedicated, and kind person, always willing to give of herself to others and willing to go the extra mile for anyone. She performs her work with the utmost professionalism and her attention to detail is amazing. And above all she does it with a smile and a kind word for everyone. She is a great choice!!
The Facultas Award recognizes the vital but often unsung services essential to the smooth and efficient functioning of the Villanova community, especially the academic faculty. Clearly, Annetta Stowman exemplifies a spirit of cheerful service to faculty and the entire Villanova community, and we are honored to present her with the Spring 2007 Facultas Award.
