3. New Teaching Awards Proposal
three proposed: one for junior faculty, one for innovative teaching (which could encompass interdisciplinary teaching, diversity emphases, use of technology or distance learning, etc.), and one for graduate faculty.
should the Lindback committee administer these? In particular, since the Lindback only applies to undergraduate teaching, the committee currently only surveys undergraduate students.
can a person repeat an award? after a certain number of years? are Lindback winners eligible?
Need names for the awards: are "Junior Faculty Teaching Award", "Graduate Teaching Award", and "Innovative Teaching Award" good enough for now?

4. Full time nontenure track faculty report

5. Adjunct Faculty Committee report

6. APC report

7. COF report

Minutes of the Faculty Congress Meeting, 23 January 2008, 4 pm.

The minutes of the December meeting were approved.

Representatives from the Student Government presented a rationale for increasing the number of reading days, complete with extensive student survey work and research on the practices of other universities. A long discussion followed. The students plan to bring the issue to the Academic Policy Committee, and the Congress decided to take no action.

The meeting was then adjourned.
