ES2

LATFS is part of the Center for Energy-Smart Electronic Systems (ES2).

ES2 is a National Science Foundation Industry/University Cooperative Research Center (I/UCRC) established to develop methodologies, tools and systems that will maximize energy efficiency for the operation of electronic systems, including data centers, "from the chip to the cooling tower."

Research Areas

Our fundamental work is in Fluid Mechanics and Convective Heat Transfer areas. Our applied work is especially motivated by engineering phenomena arising in  Thermal Management of Electronic Systems and Renewable and Alternative Energy Systems. Our current research areas are:

NSF Industry/University Cooperative Research Center for Energy-Smart Electronic Systems (ES2)

Droplet Impingement and Spray Cooling

Mini - Microchannel Heat Exchangers and Cold Plates

Flow and Convective Heat Transfer in Jets and Complex Flows
