Description:
An introduction to contemporary Catholic reflection on war and peace, with
special reference to the recent war in Iraq.
Objectives:
1. To gain some critical grasp of the "just war" tradition in Catholic Social Teaching
2. To consider the presumably complementary relationship between "just war" and Catholic
traditions espousing nonviolence.
3. To reflect on Operation Iraqi Freedom in light of recent applications of these
traditions.
