Bahama Bay at Pier 42- 950 N. Delaware Ave. 215-829-9799. Listed as the premier spot for African-Americans aged 25 to 40. They play all types of music except for rap. This is the largest outdoor nightclub in Philly. Activities include volleyball, beach barbecue, and a wonderful assortment of elegant cocktails.

Blue Moon Jazz Club- 21 S. 5th St. at The Bourse. 215-413-2272. House performers start their sets at 9:30pm. Wednesday through Saturday, and all other nights are open. No cover charge.

Bronko Bill's- Grant Ave. and Bluegrass Rd., Northeast. 215-677-8700. They have a great western revival at this place. Equipped with a more than adequate sound system, and a 4,000 sq. ft. dance floor, Bronko Bill's offers you to dance your heart out, or just sit back in one of their wonderfully decorated lounges to enjoy a few drinks. Catch a Rising Star- 211 South St. 215-440-3131. Shows are Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday at 8:30 pm., on Friday and Saturday at 8:30 and 11pm., and on Sunday at 8:30pm. Cover charge is $8 on weeknights and $10 on weekends. Features rising stars from Comedy Central.

Chestnut Cabaret- 38th and Chestnut Sts. 215-382-1201. The most popular rock act in Philadelphia, the Cabaret does the best job at bringing in regional, and even national acts, in rock, pop, Rhythm and Blues, and Reggae. Concerts are held Tuesday through Saturday nights. Cover charge varies.

Circa- 1518 Walnut St. 215-545-6800. Absolutely the hottest new club in the area. Play a variety of music from, house, disco ,pop, and techno. A little something for everybody. Great food served here. Opens at 9pm on Fridays, and Saturdays, cover charge is $5. Rock Clubs.

Dock Street Brewing- 18th and Cherry Sts., Logan Square. 215-496-0413. If you're looking for imports, or other rare microbrews, this is no the place to go. Dock Street sells only the beer that it produces. Each glass of carefully prepared ale cost around $2.50. Six varieties to choose from. Live music on Fridays, and Saturdays.

Irish Pub- 1123 Walnut St. 215-925-3311. Open nightly until 2am. The Irish Pub offers good beers in a convenient location. Food is served and lively Irish tunes are played.

Jake and Oliver's- 22 S. 3rd St. 215-627-4825. Once an old church, this place now rings loudly with the sounds of techno and house Monday through Saturday. The downstairs of this place is a microbrewery, caters to the 21 and over crowd. Cover charges range from $1 to $10. 

J.C. Dobbs-304 South St. 215-925-4053. When you come to J.C. Dobbs, come here to drink a lot and have a great time. Food is served until 1 a.m. Cover charge is no more than $5. Jazz and Blues

KatManDu- Pier 25, 417 N. Delaware Ave. 215-629-1101. The cover charge is a mere $5. Admission includes white sand, palm trees, outdoor pit barbecue, and plenty of places to slip away with that special someone. Old City Area.

Maui- Pier 53, 1143 N. Delaware Ave. 215-423-8116. Outfitted in a plush tropical setting, this club features an outdoor beach grill, and volleyball court. Most of the crowd is aged in their 20's and 30's.

Panorama- 14 N. Front St. 215-922-7800. Features over 120 different types of wine to choose from. This elegant wine bar is at the back of the Penn's View Inn. Be careful, it's kind of tricky to locate.

Samuel Adams Brew House- 1516 Sansom St. 215-563-2326. The Samuel Adams Brew House provides a relaxed environment, and offers you a selection of three home brewed ales. Their is an Oyster House on the first floor.

Silk City Lounge- 5th and Spring Garden Sts. 215-592-8838. This club is attached to the American Diner for your convenience. It caters to a young crowd, and draws live acts about once a week. Open all night Friday through Sunday. South Street Area

Warmdaddy's- Front and Market Sts. 215-627-2500. Good southern homestyle cooking at this joint. The $8 cover charged is waived with the purchase of dinner. Warmdaddy's just opened in 1995 and now they're one of the best jazz clubs in town. The ambiance is wonderful here as well.

Xero- 613 S. 4th St. 215-629-0565. One of the most successful and popular clubs/bars in the area. Thursday's cover is $5, which includes food, drink, and dance, and techno deejays set the tune on the weekends. Happy hour is 7pm to 9pm on Friday, and Saturday.
