Lutheran Children and Family Services’ Too-Can After School Programs offers six after school locations throughout the Olney and Feltonville areas of Philadelphia. The program serves children in kindergarten through fourth grade with homework assistance, art and craft projects, recreational activities, and snacks. Children attend the program within their school.

Volunteer opportunities may be of particular interest to Education majors and anyone who enjoys working with children.

Volunteer Opportunities

Individuals and groups of up to five volunteers can assist per program. Four locations are within very close proximity to the 5901 N. 5^th St. address of the office. If larger groups do not mind separating to different schools, that is possible.

Volunteers work directly with the children, ideally helping students one on one with their homework and areas in which they need improvement. 

When: Monday through Friday, 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Summers: located at Lowell School on 5^th and Nedro St., Monday - Friday 8:30 a.m to 3:00 p.m.

IMPORTANT: Volunteers are required to complete medical forms as well as criminal background checks and child abuse clearances.
