Volunteer Opportunities

Service opportunities available through Divine Providence are very flexible. Groups and individuals are both easily accommodated, as DPV simply desires the men and women to have as much one on one attention as possible. Volunteers can come once or can commit to a schedule for a longer period of time.

Activities with the women are diverse and creativity is always welcome. The men and women enjoy aerobics, arts, sports, music, parties, and more every month. There are also dances and other social events with the Cardinal Kroll Center (a men’s facility) in Springfield.

As well, DPV would love to have volunteer “buddies” for residents who live in houses together in the community.  Volunteer drivers are also desired to help transport the women to activities off campus.

When: Each month and season the activities (and sometimes schedules) for the women fluctuate, but generally opportunities for volunteering exist daily from 9:30 a.m. until approximately 8 p.m., including weekends.

The volunteer opportunities that exist through DVP
may be of particular interest to Human Services majors, Psychology majors, Special Education majors and Nursing students.
